This is the Anime Fanlistings Network approved fanlisting for the anime and manga series Gundam Wing. It opened in December 2003.
According to TAFL, a fanlisting is "a web clique that lists fans of a particular subject. Unlike most web cliques, a person does not need a web site in order to join. Fans from around the world submit their information to their approved fanlisting and they are then listed to show their love for the subject."
Gundam Wing is one of my all-time favorite anime series, so I'm really happy to run this fanlisting. I've been in love with the anime since I first saw it fansubbed. (Sadly, the fansubs are more accurate than the official subtitled DVDs, but I have both, so all is good in the world.) My personal favorite character is Lucrezia Noin, but I adore almost all of the characters, and admire the few that I don't love =)
The current layout was designed in Paint Shop Pro 7 and features yummy images of the Gundam pilots from the gorgeous Gundam Wing 2002 calendar. It's quite red. Shadows were emphasized to look like blood. (Morbid, maybe?) Font used is 7 Days.
One of the things I find most striking about the characters of Gundam Wing is their youth. It took me completely off-guard when I learned that Zechs, Noin, and Une were only 19, and that Treize was only in his 20s. The Gundam pilots and Relena, of course, are children who had to grow up extremely fast and enter a war created and perpetuated by adults, and so sacrificed any chance of living normal lives. From the characters' relatively young ages comes the fanlisting's name.
